About Nicole
For as long as I can remember, I've always loved to draw and paint and create....
I don't ever remember a time that I wasn't creative in some way, and somehow sharing what I've made with those around me. I'd draw chalk pictures on the footpath when I was little, sell pictures I'd drawn to fellow primary school students for 20c a pop and I'd wag maths classes in high school to hide in the art room to finish my latest painting or drawing. There was no question for me around what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always wanted to be an artist.
It was an easy decision to study illustration and photography at tertiary level and even when life events slowed me down from time to time, I remained creative while raising my children with sewing, embroidery, painting and scrapbooking.
Working full time as a freelance photographer for the past fifteen-ish years satisfied some of my need to create but it's through my painting and illustration that I feel like I can express myself creatively.
Art is how I share the silly daydreams that pop into my head, how I find my place in the world and how I recharge. Having others enjoy my art enhances my enjoyment and makes me want to create more. I share my art through original wall art, murals, prints, cards, textile home wares, and anything else that excites me from time to time.
Nature; especially birds and other animals, plays on words, emotions, and the connection between our human existence to our greater environment around us is what inspires me. Welcome to my site.
